Excelsior

The shades of night were falling fast
As through a pixie camp there passed,
A sheep who bore mid snow and ice
A banner with the strange device,
Excelsior!

His brow was sad, his eye beneath
Flash'd like a faulchion from its sheath,
And like a silver clarion rung,
The accents of that unknown tongue,
Excelsior!

Try not the pass, The wise bear said,
Pixie Suki will hurt your head,
With violence out and pain inside,
But loud that young sheep's voice replied,
Excelsior!

Oh! ####, the maiden said, with grace
And punched him swiftly in the face;
A tear stood in his bright blue eye,
But still he answered with a sigh,
Excelsior! Excelsior! Excelsior!

Beware uncertainty of mail!
Beware the plan that's like to fail,
This was Baloo's last wise remark,
A voice replied from packaged dark,
Excelsior!

A woolly body by the hound
Half buried in the snow was found,
Still grasping tightly in the ice
That banner with the strange device,
Excelsior!

There in the twilight cold and grey,
Lifeless, but beautiful bulay,
And from the sky serene and far
A voice fell like a falling star,
Excelsior! Excelsior! Excelsior!
