Personal Poems

These are poems describing events which were important in my life, or about feelings that I have had and needed to express at the time.

Watch This Sheep
Just because I'm a sheep, doesn't mean that I don't have ambition, nor that I cannot make a mark in the world.

As I Lay Me Down to Sleep
There are many thoughts that might worry a sheep. Generally, we are a Godless bunch but, being dumb animals, apparently we have never frallen from grace and so we get a free ticket to the goodies to come. Personally, I'm not too sure about the goodies to come and my main concern is the nasties that have already arrived, or are imminent. Anyhow, here is a little prayer to say at night to help alleviate my personal little worries.

A Daisy for my Lady
A young sheep wishes to express his love with the gift of a single daisy but, as ever, is not taken seriously by those who could help him and is again thwarted in his attempts..

A Sheep's Lament
It's not easy being a sheep in love. I know that she's a two-leggy, but I cannot help my sheepish heart. My feelings though deep and earnest can never be properly expressed and I know that my wooly troth will never be plighted and is doomed.

I Wandered Lonely As a Sheep
This is only a dream, but wouldn't it be wonderful if it came to pass?

My Carrot
The carrot is my favourite root vegetable and rather badly overlooked by poets, who do not normally consider vegetables suitable subjects for poetry. I disagree mosty strongly and, as a keen muncher of the orange root, I must readdress this serious omission.

This Little Patch of Grass is Mine
I muse upon cosmology and the great question of whether or not there is a God. But, no matter how large the universe may be, there is a little piece of it that I can lay claim to.

Sheep in Space
This is where I muse about whether there are sheep out there on other planets and think about going to visit them.

If I Could Have A Word With God
This is where I get to ask God a few questions which I think are important.
